Youth for Climate Friendliness

Young people from 8 countries gathered in Odorheiu Secuiesc to take action against climate change and promote sustainable living. Through workshops, city actions, cultural nights, and non-formal learning, we shared green ideas, explored environmental challenges, and built lasting connections.

Our Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Green Activists for Climate Friendliness” empowered 48 participants to explore their carbon footprints, rethink daily habits, and become change-makers in their local communities. From biodiversity to sustainable development goals, every topic was tackled with creativity, teamwork, and a passion for nature.

OUR GOAL

Green Activists for Climate Friendliness

The Green Activists for Climate Friendliness Erasmus+ Youth Exchange program aims to train young people in sustainability and climate-friendly lifestyles, while empowering them to become active participants in the fight against climate change. Using non-formal educational methods, the program encourages youth involvement in green initiatives and promotes community-driven environmental change.

Green Activists – Learning Materials for a Greener Future

As part of the Green Activists for Climate Friendliness Erasmus+ Youth Exchange, participants created a variety of educational and creative materials to raise awareness, inspire action, and promote sustainability. These resources reflect the knowledge, skills, and imagination of young changemakers working toward a more climate-friendly world.

Youth-led activism in action – Participants designed their own environmental campaigns to raise awareness and encourage community engagement on climate issues.

A Moment of Exchange and Connection

Visiting the UIET Office

During the Youth Exchange, participants visited the UIET headquarters in Odorheiu Secuiesc, where they had the opportunity to learn about the host organization’s work and local impact. In return, each group presented their sending partner organizations, sharing their missions, activities, and experiences. The meeting created a valuable space for mutual understanding, networking, and exploring future collaborations among youth-led NGOs across Europe.

INTERCULTURAL PRGRAMS

Discovering the Hidden Treasures of Transylvania

As part of the exchange experience, participants explored the natural beauty and cultural richness of Transylvania, with a special visit to the remote village of Vărșag. Surrounded by forests and mountains, they discovered hidden waterfalls, traditional crafts, and the unique local way of life. Alongside breathtaking landscapes, the group enjoyed authentic Transylvanian cuisine and connected with the region’s ecological and cultural heritage—strengthening their bond with nature and each other.
